We started on our quest for a wedding gown this weekend. We went to David's Bridal with Kendrick and Janet on Saturday and an interesting litte store in Cupertino called New Things West on Sunday. After trying on quite a few dresses, I think we have narrowed our search to the following criteria:
strapless
cloth or very, very soft lace material
close-fitting without a lot of ruffles
diamond white to ivory
We haven't decided on how much we should spend on the dress or where we should get it yet, but we definitely have some time to pick and choose, since there is still more a year before our wedding date.

We visited the Winchester Mystery House in San Jose. We joined both the Mansion tour and the Behind The Scene tour. It was not as "mysterious" as I thought since I have already heard of all the tricks. But it was a nice museum to learn about a 100 year old Victorian style house and the lifestyles during that period.

We had our first formal church hunting trip and visited a couple churches in Los Altos, Cupertino, Sunnyvale, and Saratoga. None of the places was as good as the one in Palo Alto. Nevertheless, we were glad to get an exposure to the various churches in the area.

We had another house hunting trip with Mark, supposed to be the last one before I leave for China. I was attracted by a house which had a full size grand piano in the living room, but your parents didn't like the house too much. After Sunday worship we went there again with Janet, Kendrick, Brenda and Michael. We had a chance to meet and talked to the owner, who was a Korean lady. After that we went to a tea shop and discussed for another hour or so. Finally I decided not to bid on the house given that it's not that perfect except for the piano, which should not be a reason, and the fact that I am leaving the area soon and the house will be desserted for half a year is a waste of money.
